 Robert Wyatt

 De son vrai nom Robert Ellidge, (Wyatt est le nom de sa mère) est un batteur et chanteur né le 28 janvier 1945 à Bristol en Angleterre, ayant débuté sa carrière musicale dans le groupe de rock progressif Soft Machine.

Avant d'enregistrer le troisième album de Matching Mole (son nouveau groupe), il subit un grave accident lors de la soirée d'anniversaire de la chanteuse et poétesse Gilli Smyth - une chute de quatre étages, la rumeur précisant que c'était sous l'effet du LSD ou une tentative de passer par la fenêtre pour ne pas se faire prendre par sa femme avec sa maîtresse,  qui le laisse paralysé des deux jambes. Il abandonne son groupe et la batterie, et entame alors une carrière solo, où il produit des albums et exécute la plupart des parties musicales.

Groupe de rock allemand

de genre Krautrock

 

Le krautrock est un genre musical  apparu à la fin des années 1960, essentiellement représenté par des groupes originaires d'Allemagne de l'Ouest. Il est souvent considéré comme un sous-genre du rock progressif, à l'instar de la zeuhl en France par exemple.

 

Si le style n'a connu de succès qu'en Allemagne à l'époque, mis à part pour Tangerine Dream et Kraftwerk, il connaît un regain d'intérêt dans les années 1980, alors que l'apogée du style se situait au milieu des années 1970. Très orienté vers la musique électronique, le krautrock sera l'une des principales influences de l'ambient, du post-rock ou encore du New Age.
