ATOMIC ROOSTER!! Un grand de mon époque...Une passion aussi. Pas tout à fait d'accord avec l'appellation de "rock progressiste"!Un groupe, un peu, maudit aussi..Deux grands noms dans son histoire : Vincent Crane, organiste, chanteur, qui fonda le groupe en 1969, avec Carl Palmer (futur Emerson, Lake and Palmer), batterie et Nick Graham, basse. Pas de guitariste soliste!! Et, surtout, le fabuleux John Du Cann, guitariste qui remplaça Nick Graham après le premier album. Le groupe continuera sans...bassiste! Deux albums, pour moi, émergent : "Death walks behind you", le second, en 1970. Et "In search of Atomic Rooster"( avec "Break the ice" de Cann), le troisième , en 1971.. De nombreuses variations dans le personnel (Crane est un cas!!), des passages (Chris Farlowe, que je n'aime pas, au chant!), départ de John Du Cann, pour fonder le fantastique groupe de hard rock "Hard Stuff". Et son retour ensuite..Crane et Cann maintiendront, plus ou moins le groupe jusqu'en 1984 ! Ensuite, plus rien...Crane meurt d'abus divers en 1989. Et Cann, récemment (j'avais publié un article!), en 2011, d'une "crise cardiaque".Un groupe "maudit" que j'aimais beaucoup! Je me repasse "Break the ice"..
